Danny Weston was crowned the winner of The Scottish Children’s Book Award (Older Readers Category) earlier this month for his haunting ghost story The Piper.
The Piper is a chilling tale about a brother and sister evacuated to a remote farm on treacherous marshland during the Second World War. Upon arriving, the siblings soon begin to suspect that something evil haunts their new home.
Danny Weston was announced as one of the winners of the award at a ceremony that took place at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel. The Scottish Children’s Book Award, ran by Scottish Book Trust, is the largest book prize in Scotland and voted for entirely by children.
