Rebecca Stead’s trip to promote her Newbery Medal-winning novel When You Reach Me was a resounding success. The American author was kept busy by numerous interviews and school visits…
Rebecca was in London last week to promote her book and to appear at the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize awards ceremony, for which it was shortlisted. Whilst here, Rebecca visited Sydenham High School and the American School in St John’s Wood where she talked to hundreds of school children about how she became a writer and the inspiration behind her award-winning book, before answering questions and signing books for the children.
Rebecca also visited bookshops across London where she signed stock and interviewed for TBK magazine, BooksforKeeps, Booktrust, the Wood & Vale newspaper and ubiquitous blogger, the Book Witch. Rebecca will also be one of the first authors to be featured on the new Guardian Young Readers website where her fans were invited to ask her questions about the book.
