Kwame Alexander’s Booked shortlisted for CLiPPA 2017

Booked by Kwame Alexander has been shortlisted for the 2017 Centre for Literacy in Primary Poetry Award.

This prestigious award celebrates the best of poetry for children, and in the past has commended other outstanding poets such as Carol Ann Duffy, Sarah Crossan and Philip Gross.

Booked has been shortlisted alongside Wonderland: Alice in Poetry edited by Michaela Morgan, Moon Juice by Kate Wakeling (illus. Elina Braslina), Jelly Boots, Smelly Boots by Michael Rosen (illus. David Tazzyman) and Zim Zam Zoom! by James Carter (illus. Nicola Colton).

Kwame Alexander is a New York Times bestselling author, whose books have won an array of impressive awards. Booked is a story about family, friendship and soccer, and follows the life of twelve-year old Nick, as his struggles are expressed as beautiful poetry.
