JEFFERSON by Jean-Claude Mourlevat and Ros Schwartz shortlisted for inaugural Entente Littéraire Prize

We are delighted to announce that JEFFERSON by Jean-Claude Mourlevat, translated by Ros Schwartz, has been shortlisted for the inaugural Entente Littéraire Prize.

Celebrating the joy of reading and shared literary experiences between the France and the UK, the Prize is inspired by the Entente Cordiale, the 1904 agreement between UK and French governments that improved bilateral relations, and includes a shortlist of French YA novels translated into English, and UK YA novels translated into French.

The Prize is organised by the Royal Society of Literature and the Institut français du Royaume-Uni in London in collaboration with the French Ministry of Culture, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the British Embassy in Paris and the French Embassy in London.

Judges for the Prize were Joanne Harris, Aude Murail, Timothée de Fombelle, Patrice Lawrence and Joseph Coelho, who were joined at the Ceremony by Her Majesty The Queen and Madame Brigitte Macron.

Congratulations to Jean-Claude Mourlevat and Ros Schwartz on a fantastic achievement!
