An evening with picture book legends Michael Foreman, David McKee and Tony Ross

Last night Michael Foreman, David McKee and Tony Ross took part in a unique and riveting panel discussion with children’s book expert Wendy Cooling, MBE, at the Random House building in front an audience of booksellers, librarians and press.

These unparalled stars of storytelling and illustration talked about their work, the characters they’ve created, including Little Princess and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, the artists who’ve inspired them and the future of picture books.

Michael Foreman, David McKee and Tony Ross are recognised as three of the greatest talents in children’s picture books, their work has been universally praised, between them they’ve received countless awards and, most importantly, children and adults alike have adored their glorious books for decades, and will undoubtedly continue to do so for many years to come.

Nicola Bayley of Mousehole Cat and Tyger Voyage fame, was also in attendance. Her first original picture book in ten years, The Big Snuggle-up, is due to be published by Andersen Press in October.
